Run by the Fredericksburg Convention and Visitor Bureau, the centre is located in a historic limestone building on East Austin Street; opposite the National Museum of the Pacific War. St Mary’s Catholic Church in Fredericksburg was established by German immigrants in 1846. The Roman Catholic church that stands today was constructed in 1906. Old Tunnel State Park is built around a Fredericksburg and Northern Railway railroad tunnel, which shut down in 1942.
